after many meetings with our investor; driving almost to St. Louis to look at equipment; looking at the proposed location and getting a rough draft of things; making plans and then getting pushed to the back burner for other pressing things…well, Jeannie and I have thrown in the towel.
The dream of a bakery will just be that…a wonderful dream that has never come to fruition.
I can look at things now and see where God has put obstacles in the way; too many things weren’t working out and we just didn’t feel God’s blessing on this, no matter how hard we prayed and no matter how much effort we put into it. So, it was just not meant to be.
Are we sad? Sure we are. Are we depressed about it? Not really, because as the Word says, “All things work together for them that love the Lord, who are the called acccording to His Purpose.” God has a BETTER plan for our lives and our ministry.
And, we never got a solid investment and commitment from our primary money person; there was always something that came up before the bakery and the money needed to go elsewhere. Understandable in a way, but also troubling and puzzling.
So…it’s a dream that will not come to pass unless God is the one who blesses it and we KNOW that beyond a shadow of a doubt.
No matter what, God will ALWAYS be first in our lives!
