You know, the MPAA (Motion Pictures Association of America) are real jerks.
Allowing a movie its rating status can oftentimes mean the difference between a blockbuster and a semi-successful movie; lately even the "PG-13" and "R" ratings have been pushed to the extreme. Even G-rated movies have some questionable content in them, with jokes about bodily functions and the like scattered throughout.
But now, comes this total madness from the MPAA, courtesy of Scripps Howard News.
Bringing God into a motion picture and allowing references to Him cause the MPAA to give it a PG-13 rating? Give me a break, people! The only reason they did this is because they took offense to the subject matter and needed a good excuse to once again show why Hollywood doesn't ever want to let Jesus be the cornerstone of their lives.
Our society is really in a shambles. I miss the days when The Ten Commandments and Ben Hur were really great movies and people took the subject matters to heart. 😦
Key words: MPAA, Hollywood, God, Jesus, The Ten Commandments, Ben Hur, PG-13, madness.
