Fourth of July Celebration in Marceline!

Marceline annually hosts Toby’s Carnival as part of a HUGE week of activities here; it is one of the biggest celebrations of its kind in our area. People come from miles around for the rides, the activities, and the general carny-type atmosphere that is rich in old hometown tradition and hearkens back to my childhood days.

I’m glad that Marceline continues on in this tradition; it helps one to remember hot summer days of sticky cotton candy and funnel cakes; dizzying nighttime rides on the Tilt-A-Whirl; and breathtaking rooftop views on the faithfully rotating ferris wheel as stars twinkle overhead.

Yes, those are nice memories. Something to pass along to our kids. 🙂

Key words: Fourth of July, Marceline MO, Toby’s Carnival, cotton candy, funnel cakes, Tilt-A-Whirl, ferris wheel, memories.
