It’s looking better for firefighters in southeast GA as they continue to battle a huge wildfire in and around the Okefenokee Swamp; but they’re not out of the woods yet.
The 80,000 + acre blaze is now roughly 64% contained, but the forecast calls for continued hot and dry conditions, with lighter winds. This may give emergency crews and response teams an upper hand in dealing with this behemoth. A welcome chance of rain is possible this upcoming weekend.
Our prayers continue to be with the firefighters for their safety, and for family and friends around the area. God be with you.
